Airports

Paris is served by three airports: Orly, Charles de Gaulle, and Beauvais. Orly (ORY), in the southeast, is only 40 minutes from Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand by bus to Pont de Rungis then RER C train (€6.35; or €30 by taxi), but is relatively small and less well served. Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG), the main Paris airport, is about an hour away by train, taking the RER B and changing for the RER C at Saint-Michel (€11.40; or €55 by taxi). Beauvais (BVA) is used by some low-cost airlines, but is almost two hours away, taking a shuttle to Porte Maillot and changing there for the RER C; taxis would start at €170.

Accommodation and transport

To find accomodation in Paris, we recommend using a site such as Booking.com or Liligo. The part of Paris where this conference will take place is called the 13th arrondissement, but one can find accomodation further away, if so desired, by taking advantage of Paris' public transport system (map). The closest Metro stop is Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand, on the metro Line 14 and the train RER C. Line 14 offers a speedy and reliable service across Paris between Saint-Lazare in the northwest and Olympiades in the southeast. RER C hugs the Seine in Paris to the east (including stations such as Champs de Mars-Tour Eiffel and Saint-Michel), and goes through suburbs such as Vitry-sur-Seine, Ivry-sur-Seine, and Choisy-le-Roi to the west. To check travel times and ways to get from your hotel to the conference location, try RATP.

There are plenty of hotels in Paris; a few of the many possibilities are outlined below.

BUDGET

Cheaper rooms usually do not have private toilet and shower. You may also consider staying in a hostel ("auberge de jeunesse"). Check www.hostels.com, www.hostelbookers.com and the like.
